THE RIVER WALK

The River Walk is a series of pavilions that is made out of wood waffle structuring system. Each pavilion focuses on a certain part of the river to create awareness, visibility and access. The concept of the design was inspired by the river’s natural flow, mostly the braided phase of the river flow. The pathway resembles the water trail where it moves in one direction that forces the visitor into getting to each structure.It starts with the River pavilion first that presents the history of the river till it’s current phase, as well as it has a research center for researches to study the river and help find solutions for rescue. Then it continues on to the rest of the pavilions that focus on other aspects such as the wild life and a plantation nursery along with a food court area and little boutiques. The goal is to create human interaction and understanding towards our environment and the issues it deals with but in an entertaining explorative way and more importantly is inviting and accessible to all.
